Most people who probably had come face to face with Avatars and their patrons would never live to tell their story.[break][break]

In fact, Elise’s close encounter with that masked Rocket and his patron, the one that she had recognised as Galarian Moltres, had almost ended with her and her shard’s death. [break][break]

But strangely enough, the male Rocket had let her live. He thought that she wasn’t worth killing yet or that she would take whatever secrets her Calyrex shard had to her grave. [break][break]

It had been a couple of days since the ambassador was discharged from the Rustboro General Hospital over their treatment of leftover burns from the Galarian Moltres’ attack. While she slept in the hospital bed, the looming presence of the bird had given her nightmares. [break][break]

It was the very visage of the bird with its dark appearance and magenta flames that really terrified her to this day. She did not show it at all during their bout because the princess was supposed to be Galar’s ambassador. Showing fear would place despair on her people and it was not a luxury afforded to her royal position.[break][break]

Since the Galarian royal enters the office of paxton concordas , the director of Project SAPPHIRE, he had been busy too. The shard of Calyrex comes by her side, of course, because he was there to live and tell the tale of facing a legendary Pokemon like himself.[break][break]

“Good day, Director. I know you must be busy, but I must discuss something of great importance for Project SAPPHIRE's research.” She says when the royal ambassador sees the director at his office room from the doorway. “It concerns the Galarian Moltres. I wasn't strong enough to overcome it.”

The nonstop sound of keys clicking echo in the office. A look of intense focus, kept Paxton's eyes glued to his screen. Next to him, sitting on top of an electric mug warmer, was a half drunk cup of coffee. He'd been at it all morning, feeling that he was finally making some headway in the work PENELOPE LIVY kept piling up on him. Promotion or not, he was still her deputy and that made him as good as any person to shove all other duties onto him that she couldn't focus on. [break][break]

AQUA hadn't been too difficult a transition, partly because there weren't many additional duties attached with it. A welcome relief he hadn't voiced to anyone. Elise Calcifet arrives unexpectedly. It takes him a couple of seconds before he stops what he's doing, finishing a sentence before blinking owlishly at the ambassador and standing up. [break]

"Oh, Elise-!" he began clearing some papers off his desk, rearranging them into quick files and stacking them together to set aside in his drawer for now. He sifts through something in another before pulling out a couple of treats for the Calyrex as well. "Sure, sure ah-" He sat back down and offered her a seat. "Hopper, could you-?" but the little Porygon has already TELEPORTed in and has shut the door behind Elise. [break][break]

"You said the...Galarian Moltres?" there weren't many reports on this one but if they had one Galarian bird. it only made sense that the other two would fall in line as well.

Charles takes the Pokemon treats out of the director’s hand and nibbles on one of them. That was a peaceful moment that she can appreciate, even if the war worries her to no end over her being responsible for Rustboro City’s protection. The door shuts behind her which she sees that a Porygon helped to close it, so that the meeting can be held for both her and the director.[break][break]

“Yes, I’ve come face to face with the bird, the brother to the Galarian Articuno that my cousin encountered.” Her response came with a solemn nod to Paxton’s question as she’d take a seat along with the High King sitting on her lap. “I didn’t get a good look at its patron because the Rocket was masked. He knew me as Galar’s ambassador which leaves me many guesses to their identity.”[break][break]

Many Rockets in their ranks knew of her position, it wasn’t a hard thing to get information from. The problem was that while she knows the voice was male, it was somehow distorted. That made it harder to guess at the bird’s patron.[break][break]

“At any rate, the information I can give to you, Director, is that the Galarian Moltres’ patron has used powers over shadow.” She thinks back to how she had been overcome by the Rocket Avatar’s powers. “And it seems like he have control over fire too, but they’re shadow-based. It terrifies me to think that I could’ve died that day.”

He dutifully takes out a legal pad to write on as Elise went over her experiences against he Moltres avatar (BARNABY FINCH ). He nodded along, not entirely fazed by the lack of info on the person themselves. Many Rockets worked masked, infiltrating who knows what spaces. Maybe the League had been purged of that at one point, but there was still many ways to siphon information out of a government. Especially when a lot of members still held out hope of recovery for Rocket. [break][break]

He doesn't voice this, nothing it would be something out of his control anyway. He could only work with what he knew, not worry about the unknowns that plagued the League. [break][break]

Paxton nodded, not as familiar with the Galarian trio as the Kantonian one. Moltres and Zapdos were still out in the wild, so it's to like he could request a meeting with the bird to compare it to its cousin. "Any fight with an avatar is a risk, considering how powerful they can be. Especially with one we don't yet have data on." Though, shadow flames left much to consider. "In any case, I'm glad you made it out safe. How are your injuries?"
